Soprano Irena Grainge has discovered a little-known
side of Chopin which she is delighted to share with
music lovers.

The songs, which express Chopin's personal feelings,
were inspired by Polish folk music and the romantic
poetry of his time.

"Chopin wrote the songs very informally. Very often
they would have been gifts to his friends - to his lady
friends at soirees".

"They were uncovered in the possession of various
people."
